Hunting Wild Mushrooms: Sept 3rd
Sunday, September 3rd 2017
GMC Visitor Center
Waterbury Center, VT
Are you intrigued by mushroom and plant foraging? Join Ari Rockland-Miller of The Mushroom Forager on a tour of late summer’s wild tastes and tonics. In September, the forests of Vermont are packed with edible mushrooms, such as lion's mane, black trumpets, yellow foot chanterelles, porcini and hedgehog mushrooms. This workshop will introduce wildcrafting safety, strategy, and sustainability, followed by an exploration of the woods around the Green Mountain Club Visitor Center for the culinary and medicinal treasures of late summer and early fall. Stick around for an optional cooking and tasting after the hunt!
