10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
GMC Visitor Center
Waterbury Center, VT
Learn how to observe and document the natural world on your next hike or in your backyard with a nature journal. In this workshop we will experiment with colored pencil and pen and discuss the tools for watercolor. Enjoy drawing outside and developing the techniques for recording natural features. Additionally, we will incorporate concepts of field description and writing into our journals. This class is perfect for those who want to record their natural discoveries in an in-depth way photographs can’t capture. Participants are required to supply their own journal and illustration utensils. There will be a variety of other instruments and tools to experiment with. Taught by local natural history illustrator Rachel Sargent (read more about Rachel here).
