  • 000

Sunday, June 25th, 3-5pm
GMC Visitor Center
Waterbury Center

Whether you are a hiker, backpacker, dog walker or just like to take your dog for a walk, this presentation is for you. The workshop starts with a Pet Tech Instructor, Lora Hoopes of Kneading Companions, dedicating an hour to educate pet owners about pet emergencies and dangers that exist while hiking with your dog. You will learn the top 6 situations you may come across out on the trail and how to prevent or manage each situation if encountered. You will also learn one of the most important skills they teach, The Snout-To-Tail Assessment™.

The second part of the workshop will be led by GMC member and writer of VT Paddle Pups, Sheila Goss. Her discussion will include tips for following proper trail etiquette while hiking with your dog as well as proper gear for your dog.

All the information is geared to make your time out on the trail pleasant and safe for you and your pet.

The class will wrap up with Katie Falcone of RAD Girls along with an adoptable dog will discuss why they take dogs from local shelters out on hikes to soak in the Vermont wilderness.
